My mother, whose maiden name was Jill Northam, is a constant inspiration and involved in all the designs. Growing up, everything was always so beautifully presented. The Christmas table was a work of art, nothing copied from a shop window, instead a beautiful festive blur of colour combined with vintage glasses and delicate family china which matched a child's imagination of a family Christmas. I shared a bedroom with my brother David, and we had cowboys and Indians all over the walls. I never dreamt of fairies or pink duvets, instead we made camps and I slept, whilst he kept watch. I still remember the grown-up prints combined with the cowboys, which was our little nest happily until our early teens.

Then came the day to fly the nest. With the confidence only teenagers can pull off, I suggested to my mother she should return to her experience within interiors and set up a company designing imaginative children's bedrooms. I helped her at first but then she was always invited back to do the rest of the house and so a small but profitable company was established. I ventured off and although completing a Music degree at university still had this fascination with children's products. And so, with my own beautiful children to constantly inspire me, a loving and supportive family, several buying jobs for leading children's retailers and then a fulfilling marketing role at Brora Cashmere under my belt, the company which has intrigued me and wanted to emerge, finally has.

We have a lot of very talented people in Britain and I am pleased to support British Industry by using their skills and expertise to create these designs on fabrics, wallpapers and accessories.
